Kaitlyn Rene Clark was June 5, 1993 in West Convina, CA. Kaitlyn started gymnastics at the age of three years old and began competing as a level 5 gymnast in 2000. Kaitlyn qualified to the 2000 State Championshps competition and moved up to level 6 the following year. She placed 1st on beam, 2nd on floor and 2nd all-around at 2001 Level 6 Sectionals and qualified to the state competition.
Kaitlyn started competing at the optional levels in 2002 as a level 7 gymnast. She placed 1st on bars, 2nd on floor, and 2nd all-around at the 2002 Level 7 State Championships. She went on competed level 8 in 2004 where she placed 1st on vault, bars, floor and the all-around competition at the 2004 California Championships. She qualified to competed in 2004 Region One Championships where she placed 1st on bars and 2nd all-around. In 2005 Kaitlyn began competing as a level 9 athlete. She competed at the 2005 State Championships where she placed 1st on bars and 2nd all-around. She qualified to Region One Championships where she took 3rd place on floor and qualified to 2005 Level 9 Western Championships. Kaitlyn traveled to St. Louis, MO to compete at Westerns and once there she placed 3rd on bars.
Kaitlyn began her first season of level 10 in 2006 and went on to place 3rd all-around at the California State Championships. Kaitlyn qualified to Region One Championships where she placed 4th all-around securing a spot on the 2006 JO National Team. Kaitlyn traveled to Oklahoma City, OK to compete in her first National competition. She did very well placing 11th all-around. Kaitlyn went on to qualify to the international elite level of competition where she competed in the 2006 US Classic in Kansas City, MO. Although Kaitlyn hit all four of her routines her difficulty was not quite high enough and she missed qualifying for nationals.
Kaitlyn re-qualified to the international elite level in 2006. She traveled to Battle Creek, MI where she scored well enough to make the 2007 USA Championships. She traveled to San Jose, CA to competed in this very prestigious meet, and although she missed making the national team she hopes to attain this goal in the future.
